Church leaders call for de-escalation in violence in campaigns

Religious leaders drawn from Christian and Muslim communities have raised concerns over what they described as a worrying rise in political intolerance, and hooliganism which they warn could plunge the country into chaos. The leaders spoke as cases of goons and political intolerance, as witnessed in Kikuyu constituency on Saturday and other parts of the country, raising questions over the country's security preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
