Safina Party leaders at the Coast have opposed the proposed Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, warning that removing the requirement for live transmission of election results could undermine transparency and public confidence in Kenya’s electoral process.
Coast Safina Coordinator William Hamam, together with religious leaders, called on Parliament to uphold constitutional principles of accountability, openness and public participation. They urged the government to reconsider the proposed changes, saying electoral reforms should strengthen trust in democratic institutions.
