The government has urged young people in the Coast region to enrol in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to gain practical skills, improve their employability and avoid drug abuse, crime and other social vices.
Speaking during the distribution of NG-CDF bursary cheques worth KSh2.9 million to 800 Form Four students in Changamwe, Mombasa County, Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime said TVETs and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) provide market-driven skills that enable graduates to secure employment or start their own businesses.
