COOPERATIVES KEY TO UNLOCKING AGRICULTURAL FINANCE, OPARANYA TELLS FINAS 2026 SUMMIT

Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs, Dr. Wycliffe Oparanya, has emphasized that cooperative societies are the key to unlocking affordable agricultural finance for smallholder farmers. Speaking at the closing of the Financing Agri-Food Systems Sustainably (FINAS) 2026 Summit, Oparanya said strengthening cooperatives will improve access to credit, markets, technology, and extension services while boosting agricultural productivity and farmer incomes.
