Cost of building material expected to rise as Iran war continues

    The price of building materials are set to go up as the Middle East conflict disrupts cargo freight and raises charges.The construction industry players are warning that prolonged war could result in acute shortage of materials and push prices upwards. Speaking during Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) convention in Naivasha, industry leaders linked global instability to impending challenges in the sector. MRM CEO Albert Sigei emphasized that while the company has secured ample supplies and strategic plans to cushion against shortages, prolonged conflict could still drive up costs. He further highlighted domestic hurdles such as high electricity bills, counterfeit goods, and poor workmanship, as other hurdles faced by the industry.
