Interior and national administration cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki has directed the reopening of 13 schools that had been closed due to wanton insecurity in West Pokot county. Kindiki also announced that government will spend Sh100m to reconstruct the affected schools. Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in West Pokot on Thursday, Kindiki further stamped the government’s commitment to weed out insecurity in the North, directing those in possession of illegal firearms, to willingly give them up or face the full force of the law.
