Delegates from 30 African countries expected to attend the inaugural Africa Forward Summit begins

More than 100 civil society organisations across Africa have vowed to submit a white paper to 39 heads of state expected at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi. They are calling for, among other demands, stronger protection of Africa’s natural resources, including minerals from foreign exploitation, expanded fair trade among African countries, and urgent reforms on governance and democracy, with clear timelines for implementation and accountability.
