Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga has issued a strong warning to politicians against engaging in political violence, hooliganism, and hate speech as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Election. Speaking in Mombasa after the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) forum, Ingonga said anyone found violating the law will face prosecution regardless of their political affiliation. He noted that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is working closely with the National Police Service (NPS), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), and other agencies to prevent election-related offences and safeguard a peaceful electoral process.
