Tonight, we begin with the dramatic arrest of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. Tension and chaos erupted at the governor’s Milimani residence as officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) conducted a raid linked to the alleged embezzlement of 1.4 billion shillings in county funds. The early morning operation took a violent turn when irate youth, reportedly resisting the search, vandalized four EACC vehicles. Governor Natembeya was eventually arrested and taken to the EACC’s Integrity Centre in Nairobi, where he recorded a statement. He remains in custody and is expected to be arraigned on tuesday. And as Citizen TV’s Ben Kirui reports, opposition leaders have condemned the operation, alleging it was motivated by politics.
