EACC RECOVERS SH3 6 BILLION, DISRUPTS ATTEMPTS TO STEAL SH40 BILLION

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has intensified its fight against corruption, recovering assets worth Sh3.6 billion in the last financial year and disrupting attempts to steal more than Sh40 billion in public funds. EACC Director of Preventive Services Vincent Okongo said the commission had recovered more than Sh30 billion worth of corruptly acquired assets over the past decade, while hundreds of billions of shillings in unexplained wealth and asset recovery cases remain before the courts.
