The promotion of teams to the Kenya Premier League will have to revert to the 2019 Football Kenya Federation rules and regulations due to ongoing court cases challenging the new 2025 FKF rules.
Football Kenya Federation had proposed that the top three teams in the National Super League be promoted to the KPL, while the bottom three in the KPL be relegated to the NSL.
The 2019 rules allow only two automatic promotions and relegation, with the third team in the NSL playing off against the 16th team in the KPL.
