The government has expanded its Gumzo la Uchumi Mashinani public participation initiative to churches and mosques through a new "brethren to brethren" engagement model aimed at strengthening grassroots involvement in Kenya's economic planning and budget-making process.
Speaking in Ruaraka, Principal Secretary for Economic Planning Dr. Bonface Makokha said the initiative seeks to move economic discussions from boardrooms to communities, ensuring every Kenyan has a meaningful opportunity to contribute to national planning as required by the Constitution.
