The Kenyan government has announced plans to roll out a KSh 465 billion National Feed Strategy aimed at lowering the cost of animal feed, reducing livestock production expenses and strengthening food security.
Speaking at the African Feed Conference and Exhibition (AFEC) 2026 in Nairobi, officials said the 10-year strategy will expand local feed and fodder production, reduce reliance on imported raw materials and improve livestock productivity through modern technologies and climate-smart farming practices.
