The Kenya Counselling and Psychology Association has raised the alarm over rising alcohol and drug abuse among young people, warning that addiction is disrupting education, destroying relationships and tearing families apart.
Speaking in Thika, National Secretary Edwin Kibe shared his personal recovery journey ahead of his 16th anniversary of sobriety on August 23. Kibe, an addiction counsellor and Uhai Kenya Executive Director, said substance abuse is increasingly affecting high school and university students, with some dropping out of school as addiction takes hold.
