Hundreds of casual workers, who had been under the Green Army programme, will be converted to a permanent and pensionable basis. The Nairobi County Public Service Board has started vetting 4,065 workers to award them jobs. The exercise kicked off at Dagoretti Training School in Dagoretti South, a week after Governor Sakaja announced plans to formally employ the workers. The Green Army, comprising thousands of young people, has played a pivotal role in enhancing the city's sanitation through garbage collection, river cleanups, and beautification projects. The vetting is expected to be transparent and thorough.
