Emotions ran high at the interdenominational funeral service of 16 victims of the March 28 road crash along the Nyeri–Mweiga road, as family and friends of the deceased came together to bid farewell to their loved ones.
In the somber ceremony conducted at the Kabiru-ini Showground, meters from the scene of the deadly crash, most of those who perished were commemorated as breadwinners for the affected families.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who was in attendance, implored the courts to lift orders that stopped the implementation of National Transport and Safety Authority’s automated instant fines system in an effort to curb road carnage.
