Hewani Energy is investing 250 million US dollars approximately 33 billion shillings in the Meru Wind Solar Energy Project set to boost clean energy supply in Kandebene Sub-Location Tigania West constituency in Meru County. The project will have the capacity of producing 220 megawatts of power to serve over 400,000 homesteads in the region. The public-private partnership project which is set to be operationalized in the next 3 years was among several initiatives that president Dr William Ruto launched recently during his development tour in Mt Kenya region .
