The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has pledged to support media houses in accessing verified election data as journalists prepare to continue tallying and publishing presidential results in the next general election. However, the commission has cautioned that any results broadcast must be accurate, verified, and legitimate to avoid causing confusion or division among Kenyans. Media organisations say they plan to jointly consolidate and release results to prevent conflicting figures, as was witnessed during the 2022 general elections.
