Isiolo residents protest alleged illegal approval of Ksh.7B budget

Hundreds of Isiolo residents staged a peaceful protest in Isiolo town over the alleged approval of a Sh7 billion county budget, which they claim was passed without public participation. The demonstrators blamed leadership wrangles in the county assembly for stalled services and a struggling local economy. Business owners also raised concerns over declining cash flow linked to governance issues. The ongoing power struggle has seen Isiolo County Assembly split into two factions, each with its own speaker, Abdulahi Banticha and Mohamed Roba, intensifying confusion in the running of the county.
