Judiciary defends recent rulings amid fears of eroding public trust and intimidation claims

The judiciary was on Thursday forced to defend decisions it has made in recent days on matters disputing policies by the executive, after it was accused of having fallen back on it’s boldness in standing for what is right. While expressing fear that recent judgements and rulings have threatened to erode the trust of Kenyans in the third arm of government, Mombasa county residents who attended the supreme court's annual townhall engagement sought to understand whether the judicial officers were facing intimidation, especially after the historic nullification of the 2017 presidential election.
