The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has begun the construction and renovation of classrooms in 10 primary schools located in insecurity-prone areas of Laikipia County as part of efforts to restore lasting peace and improve access to education.
While commissioning the project, Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru said the classrooms are expected to be completed within two months following a directive from President William Ruto. The initiative focuses on expanding boarding school facilities to increase enrollment, improve student retention, and reduce school dropouts that can leave young people vulnerable to crime.
