The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Malaba One Stop Border Post and Kocholia Sub-County Hospital to strengthen Ebola preparedness and prevent the spread of the disease.
The donation includes N95 respirators, surgical masks, face shields, aprons, gumboots, thermoguns, tents and other essential equipment for screening, isolation and sample collection. Health officials say the support will enhance surveillance at the busy Kenya–Uganda border, where more than 1,500 people cross daily.
