Kenya has significantly strengthened its insurance safety net, doubling compensation for policyholders to 500,000 shillings in a move aimed at restoring trust and cushioning victims following the collapse of their underwriters. The Policyholders Compensation Fund (PCF) noted that the 250,000 shillings set in 2017 and KES 100,000 in 2010 have been overtaken by time.
