Kenyan man killed in Russia-Ukraine war, family seeks repatriation

The family of a man who died serving in the Russian army is asking the government to help bring his remains back home. Martin Macharia died in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. The father of four had travelled to Russia for a driving job but found himself enlisted to fight for Russia despite having no military training. The Kenyan government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diaspora, claims it has received no official report of his death.
