Kenyan teacher nominated for 2026 global award for transformative impact

A Kenyan teacher has been nominated for a prestigious global award following his transformative impact on learners and his community. Shallom Maweu Sila, a Physics and Chemistry teacher at St. Francis Misyani Girls in Kangundo Subcounty Machakos County, is part of the 50 teachers globally nominated for the 2026 Teachers Global Awards which are set to be held in February 2026 in Dubai. If he wins the Global award Teacher Sila will pocket about 130 Million Kenyan Shillings.
