The family of a woman who died while working in Saudi Arabia has finally been able to give her a befitting send-off at home. Jane Omondi, who hailed from Kaloleni in Kilifi County, died in 2024 and was buried in Saudi Arabia without her family’s knowledge. Her remains were later exhumed and repatriated to Kenya for burial. Human rights advocates say her death highlights ongoing cases of abuse and neglect faced by Kenyans working abroad.
