KHRC threatens legal action over Siaya mining dispute

The Kenya Human Rights Commission is to institute legal proceedings against a Gold investor in Ruala, Siaya county, over alleged oppressive mining operations. The Commission has also raised concerns over continued mining activities, despite a court order halting operations. And as Mary Muoki reports, the rights activists are now accusing state operatives of shielding the company and coercing residents to cede their land.
