Kimani names provisional squad for 2027 AFCON qualifiers

National Under-23 coach Anthony Kimani has named his provisional squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The technical bench has called up 42 players, including 10 based in Europe. Meanwhile, the Under-20 team has settled well in Tanzania and begun training ahead of the CECAFA AFCON qualifiers in Dar es Salaam. Coach Gilbert Selebwa has 23 players in camp, with two more expected to join on Wednesday ahead of their opening match against Burundi. Selebwa says Burundi are very physical and fast, but his players are well prepared for the challenge. With only two teams qualifying for the AFCON, their minimum target is to reach the finals. Top striker Austin Odongo is also back in training after missing two days with a slight knock.
