The Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Kisii Branch has vowed to sustain its strike until the Council of Governors addresses key demands, including the full implementation of the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The strike, which began on July 29, has disrupted critical health services, including emergency care, forcing patients to seek treatment in private hospitals.
KNUN Kisii officials are calling for career progression for health workers, permanent and pensionable terms for UHC workers, and the reinstatement of 46 nurses dismissed in 2021 during a previous strike.
