Elections to choose new officials of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers brought to an end 24 years of service for executive secretary Musembi Katuku. Immediate vice secretary Yvonne Mutindi clinched the executive secretary position, becoming the first woman to lead a top KUPPET position in the county. Elsewhere, confusion and delays marred similar elections for KUPPET officials in Kiambu County despite the exercise attracting a huge turnout of teachers.
