Kuresoi South Member of Parliament Joseph Tonui has called on youths to avoid drugs and substance abuse, saying the vice is derailing economic empowerment and development. Speaking during a Thanksgiving ceremony at Chemaner senior school following the release of the 2025 KCSE results, Tonui noted that many youths are failing to meet employment requirements in disciplined forces due to drug abuse. He cited cases where over one thousand youths were discontinued from military training after testing positive for banned substances
