LAIKIPIA LEADERS WELCOME BATUK TRAINING RESUMPTION, CALL FOR LONG TERM AGREEMENT

Leaders in Laikipia County have welcomed the government's decision to allow the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) to resume military exercises in the region, saying the move will support the local economy and create employment opportunities. Speaking in Nanyuki, former Laikipia East MP Mutahi Kimaru called for a long-term contractual agreement between Kenya and the United Kingdom to provide certainty for residents and businesses that benefit from BATUK activities.
