Lamu, Mandera, Turkana are undergoing drought stress

    Approximately 2.12 million Kenyans in Lamu, Mandera and Turkana are being affected by drought-related stress. This, according to the weatherman who attributed to the failed and depressed rainfall witnessed during the 2025 October-November-December short rains season. Some of the factors that contributed to the failed and depressed rainfall include: Indian Ocean dipole, La NiƱa and the Madden-Julian Oscillation.
