Maa elders threaten to withdraw support for Ruto

The Maa Council of Elders has threatened to withdraw its support for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election unless the dispute over the transfer of management of Amboseli National Park to the Kajiado County Government is resolved. The elders said their position will depend on how the government addresses the ongoing standoff over the management of the national park.
