Madagascar has arrived early as they signal their intention to conquer the tournament in Nairobi. Over the years, Madagascar has built a formidable reputation on the African karate scene and is widely regarded as one of the continent’s powerhouses. Eleven more countries are expected to arrive between Wednesday and Friday. Before the tournament starts on Saturday, there will be technical training sessions and seminars for referees and coaches on Thursday and Friday. Kenya has assembled a strong squad but they will be pushed to the limit by traditional karate countries of Africa, including Madagascar, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
