MoH warns counties and the public to prepare adequately for El Nino rains

The Ministry of Health has issued an advisory to County governments and the public to prepare adequately ahead of the El Niño rains to prevent disease, injuries and loss of life. In a three-page advisory, the ministry urged counties and the public to be on the lookout, as heavy rainfall and flooding can contaminate water sources, increase mosquito breeding, as well as increase the risk of malaria, dengue fever, Rift Valley fever and waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid and other diarrheal diseases.
