Mombasa leaders have threatened to reconsider their support for the Broad-Based Government following the demolition of more than 170 houses in Changamwe, despite a court order maintaining the status quo.
Led by Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, the leaders condemned the demolitions, saying hundreds of families were left homeless and suffered massive property losses. The county government has vowed to seek compensation for affected residents, join the ongoing court case, and pursue legal action against those responsible.
