MP Nyoro wants government to scrap additional fuel levy

Concerns are mounting over a possible fuel shortage in the country, with motorists reporting scarcity at a number of petrol stations nationwide a crunch attributed to hoarding of fuel in anticipation of price hike. Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro is now calling on the government to take full responsibility by reducing VAT on fuel and scrapping the additional fuel levy. Nyoro says Kenyans should not bear the burden of rising global oil prices linked to tensions between Iran and the United States, warning that fuel costs are likely to spike locally and push price of consumer goods up.
