Interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has now ordered the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to deploy a special police unit to deal with goons, saying the time to plead with politicians to stop using gangs has lapsed. Speaking in Kitale and Nandi County, the CS blamed politicians for the rising cases of chaos at political events, which he said threaten to drag the country into anarchy. Similar sentiments were echoed by Kenyan Kwanza leaders, who condemned the opposition for the political intolerance.
