Nairobi has in recent months been hit by repeated, deadly floods, leaving behind a trail of destruction and loss of lives. The city built on wetlands had nature’s own sponge designed to absorb water, not fight it. But today, those natural defences are disappearing, and the water is drowning the city under the sun. Tonight, our reporter Emily Chebet tells a story of a city whose very name means “place of cool waters. But has, over the years, seen the cool waters threaten its very existence.
