Nairobi residents count heavy losses after devastating floods

Residents across Nairobi are counting losses worth hundreds of millions of shillings after severe floods hit early Saturday following heavy rains. Cars were swept away, buildings and businesses badly damaged, and several hospitals and schools submerged, some losing everything and closing immediately. Many say the floods were caused by illegal construction near waterways and poor drainage infrastructure.
