The National Biosafety Authority has launched biosafety gardens in schools in Busia county in a move seeking to foster environmental conservation among students. The initiative that has seen at least 5,000 seedlings planted across Busende primary school, Muyafwa junior secondary and Mundika secondary school has been hailed as a climate change mitigation tool. School heads and representatives of the authority hailed the program as a booster to the ambitious presidential 15 billion tree planting goal by 2032.
