The National Construction Authority has intensified its nationwide crackdown on all buildings violating construction regulations, warning rogue contractors that they risk prosecution as well as deregistration. The NCA, Manager Construction Research and Business Development, Dr Eng Meshack Otieno cited an alarming trend of developers securing approvals for a specific number of floors but illegally adding extra storeys without fresh structural assessment.
