Oburu-led ODM faction opens talks with UDA, vows to defend seats and presidency option

Even as the Linda Mwananchi faction of the ODM party discounted the legitimacy of the special delegates convention held at the Jamhuri Showground, the Linda Ground faction led by Oburu Oginga passed a resolution to engage in negotiations with the ruling party, UDA, towards a coalition agreement. They, however, fired a warning shot that they would not be ceding any ground where they already hold elected seats and retain the option to contest the presidency should they be threatened.
