Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has appealed to the government and football authorities to clear the team's outstanding allowances ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals, saying the payments would boost the players' morale. Speaking during a training session at Kasarani Stadium, Odemba said the squad is yet to receive allowances for its previous two matches and urged the relevant stakeholders to intervene. She also expressed hope that President William Ruto will officially flag off the team before they depart for Morocco, saying the gesture would inspire the players ahead of their historic campaign. Despite the financial concerns, Odemba said preparations have gone well, with the team building strong chemistry ahead of the tournament, which will be held in Morocco from July 26 to August 16.
