President William Ruto’s Teso name, Ojokotau, meaning “someone with a big heart”, was among the highlights of his installation as a community elder. The ceremony also drew attention to economic opportunities along the Kenya-Uganda trade corridor, with New Mega Africa Director David Abai urging the Teso community to embrace entrepreneurship, investment and cross-border trade.
