Teso North MP Oku Kaunya has urged residents to embrace a culture of saving through Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs), saying it is key to reducing poverty, promoting financial independence, and improving household incomes.
Speaking during a members' education forum organized by Ports SACCO in Amagoro, Kaunya said regular saving enables members to access affordable loans, invest in businesses, and build sustainable livelihoods. He encouraged residents to move away from expensive informal lenders and instead join SACCOs to strengthen their financial future.
