President Ruto awards Ksh 500,000 to each winner at the 14th Kalasha Awards

President William Ruto has created a Creative Economy Office at State House as part of efforts to scale up investment in the sector. Additionally the President has urged Parliament to fast-track the Creative Economy Bill 2026 and strengthen copyright laws to protect players in the industry. The Head of State made the remarks during the 14th Kalasha International Film and TV Awards held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre Nairobi. Among the winners was Michelle Lemuya who clinched the Best Lead Actress award.
