PUMWANI RESIDENTS REJECT SETTLEMENT SCHEME, DEMAND LAND ADJUDICATION

Residents of Pumwani village in Magarini Constituency, Kilifi County, have rejected a proposal to establish a settlement scheme on land they say has been occupied by local families for generations. The residents are instead demanding that the land be subdivided through the adjudication system to ensure bona fide residents benefit. They claim a settlement scheme could disadvantage locals and lead to displacement.
