Relief has swept through Narok South after the Government resolved the long-running Cheluget land dispute, ending a 30-year stalemate that had left thousands of families facing uncertainty and possible eviction.
The government has taken possession of the 5,800-acre property after the Cheluget family handed over the title deed and withdrew court cases seeking the eviction of residents. The Ministry of Lands will now undertake the survey and titling process before individual title deeds are issued to beneficiaries.
